Vintage DVD entitled “Southern Railway’s 4501 in the 70’s”. Back in the late 70’s Southern Railway’s famous 2-8-2 No. 4501 ran numerous trips in and out of Chattanooga, Tennessee. This three-part video documentary details a few of those trips. Scenes 1-5 are from Knoxville, TN and Atlanta, GA trips. Scenes 6-14 are from a Huntsville, AL to Chattanooga, TN and return trip. Scene 15 is on board the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum’s 10th Anniversary Autumn Leaf Special. Since the Southern no longer runs mainline steam trips, this 27 min. video will surely rekindle many memories of this once great Southern icon. This original footage was shot on Super 8 Kodachrome 40 sound movie film and transferred to DVD-R. Please be advised that your DVD player must support a DVD-R format.
